At Nawton School we believe in working together for common goals, in partnership, through shared leadership, co-evolving and co-learning.

Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.

I believe at Nawton School we have created a sense of belonging, are gifting this to the people: students, families and wider community, have built and are building traditions and our common understanding, ideas and ideals.

We strive to provide a holistic learning environment to empower students to succeed.

Our mission is to enable students to:

We are constantly developing: curriculum content and learning opportunities that help students think critically, creatively and reflectively to make meaning and take responsibility for their learning. Students are actively involved in assessment to set goals, next learning steps and be able to this. Students lead learning conferences each term supported by teachers, to share their achievement and progress.

We aim to promote effective teaching and learning strategies that motivate students, to address a variety of learning needs. This year we have been working with the University of Waikato to enhance work in maths and literacy and focussed on accelerating learning.
