Room 4

Rachel Gouws

I believe children and their learning needs are at the heart of learning in Room 4.
Learning happens when children have the skills and knowledge to be successful at what they do.
Children also need to know what they are learning, and why they are learning it.
This occurs when there are many rich learning experiences which cater for all learning styles.
The way we relate to each other is also a key component of learning in Room 4.
Valuing others and where they are at on their learning journey is important, so we aim to show respect, kindness, sharing and the ability to listen to others.
I believe literacy is the basis of learning, no matter what the curriculum area, so reading, writing, oral language and visual literacy are integrated into many areas.
I am really interested in Arts:Visual Art and Music, and I can't wait to try out dance in our classroom!
