Welcome to Room 23, where if you walk past, you are very likely to hear music rocking out.
Room 23 is our release classroom where each class comes for a half day to learn to play, and to learn about music. It's where music lessons for rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, and drums happen everyday, and where our band, choir, dance group and ukulele group rehearse together for their performances.
In music release, children have the opportunity to learn a wide range of instruments, from hand held percussion instruments such as bongo drums and shakers, to wind instruments such as recorders, to stringed instruments such as ukuleles and various types of guitar, and large percussion instruments such as the drums. Students also learn about how to read and write music using correct notation, and have the opportunity to compose and perform their own music pieces.
From classical music to beat boxing, ballards to rock; in the music room we explore and appreciate the different styles and purposes of music, and provide children with the opportunity to discover their natural talent, and to learn to play and create music.
